Vote for #1 — recall issues are so frustrating – best to laugh at them! 2211

  3. Tracy Sterling
    3:17 pm on December 23rd, 2009

I vote for #2 – Giraffes having to kiss over the mistletoe. Very funny. It made me laugh the most of all 5. (ISTJ)

    #5.
    Right-brained dominant.

  5. Tracy Sterling

    Sorry – I’m also a 1122; 70% left.

  6. Michelle M
    3:18 pm on December 23rd, 2009

Number 5. The image gives meaning to an otherwise overused statement. My profile code is 1121.
DABC (D is dominant, followed by ABC).

  7. Michelle M
    3:24 pm on December 23rd, 2009

Oops. Right brain dominant (52% to 48% for left brain)

  8. Paige B

Love the snowmen. It’s so green just like me!

  9. Hap Cooper
    3:44 pm on December 23rd, 2009

    Hi Guys–I liked #2 and #5 the best (I’m dominant in quadrants D (1) and C (1) and not so much in B (3) and A (4).

I’m interested to get your take on this–do we laugh at how people NOT like us operate? Or do we go for the gags that fit our profiles?

    Merry Merry,
    Hap

#5 is my favorite, so many times I have sat there with my laptop working away.
    Left brain…

  11. Sharon Gander
    4:21 pm on December 23rd, 2009

#1 (Gasp! Sigh!) Oh, too true.
    #2 (Ha! Snort!) Wild!
#3 (Snicker, snicker!) Been there! (In the listerner’s seat when something like this was proposed… it’s disorienting to experience but funny to read, so I have mixed reactions to this one.)
#4 (Strangled gurgle and sigh). How management consultants get a bad name.
    #5 (???) This is funny???

So, I guess probably #2 for me.

    1211 — very low 2 in B quadrant.

  12. Bronah Livingston
    4:44 pm on December 23rd, 2009

#3 – I usually never make it through a cartoon that wordy and detailed, but gave this one a shot and hooted at the end! Made the tedium of reading the details worth it – almost! Me? I’m a 2211 – with off-the-chart C and D. can ya tell?

  13. Janet Greco
    5:02 pm on December 23rd, 2009

#2 — unusual and visual. Who knew giraffes kissed?

  14. Janet Greco
    5:03 pm on December 23rd, 2009

#2 — Who knew giraffes kissed?

  15. Monika Lumsdaine
    5:04 pm on December 23rd, 2009

Definitely #5 (I’m a 1111 married for 50 years to a 1321 who doesn’t like to listen to quadrant B advice)–so it’s either getting exasperated or laughing because this cartoon is so true…actually, he is the one with a much stronger sense of humor than mine.

  16. Steve Messinger
    5:04 pm on December 23rd, 2009

I found #3 to be the perfect parody. How many times have I listened to a C suite suit and thought “This ought to be in a cartoon?”

    I’m 1211, with 59% right and 41% left.

Also ENTJ. I love the comments.

  17. Gretchen Neve
    6:15 pm on December 23rd, 2009

    #1: I don’t get it.
    #2: cute.
#3: good comment on management techno speak but not funny to me. ironically, “maximise” spelled wrong. should be a “z”, instead of an “s”.
    #4: as a consultant…”ouch!” though I’m not sure if that is Santa or a reindeer speaking…either way…”ouch!”
    #5: got a giggle.

  19. Julie Hawkins

#2, hoofs down. 2211 Off the chart D here.

And, better yet, Janet G.’s “Who knew giraffes kissed?”… Bwahahaaa!!

    Thanks, and Merry Holidays!

  20. Bethany Faber
    7:34 pm on December 23rd, 2009

    #4 but #5 made me smile as well – I am 1,1,1,2

  21. Dave LaPenta

Vote for Number 3. All left brain and scares me that I totally understand it!

  22. Donna Van Bogaert
    10:02 pm on December 23rd, 2009

I found #3 funniest probably because I am working in a government agency where I encounter many people who are just like this. I’m a 3-2-11.
Happy Holidays to everyone at HI>

  23. Aladdin Al-Taher
    12:09 am on December 24th, 2009

The funniest are the people who are voting. They are analising these cartoons, which they are supposed to laugh at not to work on. Oh, God

    I vote for #4

#2 The giraffe. Looking forward to look the mirror in 2010, love my reflection and kiss it.

  32. Maggie Chicoine
    4:51 am on December 24th, 2009

#3 – I have clients like this!! They would laugh. I’m 2211. (My natural pick would be the giraffe). Happy Holidays everyone.

  35. Daryl Conner
    6:34 am on December 24th, 2009

#3–Nothing funnier than laughing at ourselves and there is probably no more jargon filled profession than the internal/external consulting business.

  36. George Omiros
    6:56 am on December 24th, 2009

    #5 followed by #1 Happy Holidays… 1211

  37. Wendy
    7:48 am on December 24th, 2009

Since I am a 2211 working in a 1133 world, #3 was the funniest by far.

  38. Nancy Kuhn
    8:03 am on December 24th, 2009

#2 gets it for me. THEY get it. Pretty much. A joyous Christmas to all!

  39. chuck mcvinney

#5. Appealed to my yellow quadrant dominance (2211).

  40. Bowman Kelley
    8:56 am on December 24th, 2009

#5 appealed to me the most, I am a 1222.

  41. Fritz Petree
    9:15 am on December 24th, 2009

    #5 – 1211
I thought it was funny because I think my brain melts when I’m on the computer too much :-)
    Merry Christmas!

  42. Roger Blackstock
    9:25 am on December 24th, 2009

I vote for #4. It illustrates the reality of what we do…As consultants and practitioners we struggle getting Execs to realize the advantages of stepping out of their comfort zone and into the thinking style of others. No one likes change, though through change we expand our level of awareness and we grow. I’m a 2111.

  43. Marian Thier
    11:33 am on December 24th, 2009

#4 got to laugh at ourselves!

  44. Geoff Bellman
    12:16 pm on December 24th, 2009

Number 4 speaks to the way our missionary spirit often blinds us to the realities of life around us.

  45. Paula Miller
    12:21 pm on December 24th, 2009

Tough to decide… but #5 made me laugh out loud. #1 was so “true” (personal POV) and #4 was great (work POV… leadership “stuff” is what I do)! Like most times when I’m presented with many choices, I have a touch time deciding. But I’ll go with #5 because it made me laugh. HBDI=2111

  46. Jenny Sharp
    2:37 pm on December 24th, 2009

Love #5 – hmmm, the visual for yellow/reds…loved it. #2 – I had to read it twice – guess that confirms my blue and green scores! ha ha

  47. Lydia Mong
    4:19 pm on December 24th, 2009

I have to go with #5. It’s the one that made me really laugh out loud! And I can identify with the poor snowman. 3211+.

  48. Selim M. Nehdi
    7:36 pm on December 24th, 2009

I have to go with #5. I can identify with the generation dependent on computers, and I experienced laptop-thigh burn on numerous occasions. And I’m not yet enough of a management consultant to appreciate the office-oriented humor of the other ones. 2211 – used to be 1211.

  49. Cheryl Hudson
    9:02 pm on December 24th, 2009

I vote for #5. Laptops can get pretty warm.

  50. Doug Couturier
    10:57 am on December 25th, 2009

    My Fav – #2
    I like #5 also
I have a single, strong preference for “D” type thinking, over-all a definite right and cerebral tilt to my preferences.

  51. Eng. Mohammed Al-Nabati
    11:08 pm on December 25th, 2009

No 4 is goodbest one for me HBDI = CD (2211) with strong C

i am cirtifed trainer in HBDI & MBTI

  52. Roland Spinola
    4:17 am on December 26th, 2009

Number 1 made me laugh most! Being a 2-2-1-1 (close to 3-2-1+-1+) I sometimes get something, which
    1. I already have (like a book)
    2. I already have enough of (red wine, for example, which I bottle myself) or
    3. Dislike (e. g. German so called folk music, which is horrible)

Years ago I returned something to the person who gave it to me – it was the end of a (otherwise) wonderful friendship :-) ))

  53. Roland Spinola
    4:24 am on December 26th, 2009

BTW: I didn’t understand #5 until I read some of the comments … It seems I never used my “note”-book as a “laptop”!!

  54. Lisa Parker
    6:23 am on December 26th, 2009

Its a tie for me between number two (giraffes) and number 5. Both made me laugh out loud but the funnier was the giraffes.

  55. Pam Scott
    8:18 am on December 26th, 2009

#2–really clever, made me laugh out loud. #5 is my second pick. I didn’t find #1 funny at all and #3 gave me a headache reading it. Guess we know where I live.

  56. Miriam
    12:31 pm on December 27th, 2009

#2… the giraffes… so sweet! :-) However, I have to say that I can appreciate the humor in all of them! Thanks for the laugh! :-)

  57. Dieter
    12:05 am on December 28th, 2009

  59. Kathryn

  60. Debra S

  66. Peggy Hutcheson
    8:22 am on December 28th, 2009

  67. Peggy Hutcheson
    8:24 am on December 28th, 2009

Thanks for the chuckles. I enjoyed them all, but if I must pick one it’s #5. It made the parent in me kick in!

  68. Wendy Heimann
    8:42 am on December 28th, 2009

#5 got the laugh from me. I am a 2112.

  69. Julie Shipley
    8:44 am on December 28th, 2009

Thought one was pretty funny, but I like #5 the best. Poor snowman. No legs, er…bottom…didn’t think ahead to the consequences. Immediate gratification, isn’t that what it’s all about?

  70. Amy Brehm
    12:25 pm on December 28th, 2009

Um, what does it say that I had to look up my profile of 3,2,1,1 (I could picture in in my mind)? Anyhow, loved #2, the giraffes, it was funny and suprising!

  71. Kennethy W. Jones
    12:58 pm on December 28th, 2009

  78. Jeffrey Stamp
    7:43 am on December 29th, 2009

#2 biggest laugh: shows us it isn’t the rules that are important here (kiss UNDER the mistletoe), it’s the spirit of the adventure – to get the kiss!.
#1: oh my, I was married to her once!
#3: not funny, absolutely true. Okay, that’s funny.
    #4: about time, reindeer rights!
#5: funny strong message… don’t sit there and melt, go out and play!

  79. Bob McKown
    10:07 am on December 29th, 2009

#4 – was my biggest laugh – since I am one of those in one of my many roles. But #3 sounds like a friend of mine or else government run health care. A 2111- that was on vacation with my family when I got this on my blackberry so glad you gave me til the 8th :)

  80. Mong Sai

  83. Mary Bruce
    6:47 am on December 31st, 2009

#4. How could I NOT go with the management consultant joke. I need all the reminders I can use to second guess my own ideas and make sure I don’t get Santa pulling the sleigh.

  84. David T-K
    4:53 am on January 2nd, 2010

The giraffes are cute, but the melted “snowlap” made me put my laptop on a stack of magazines! #5 get’s my vote.
    Profile: 2211, 70% right, 53% upper …

  85. Jim Casto
    9:32 am on January 2nd, 2010

My vote goes to #3. It is, unfortunately, too true. Real Christmas resides in the C and D quadrants. It is sharing yourself with family and others, AND appreciating the imaginations of children.

  86. Casper Littrup
    2:43 am on January 4th, 2010

I vote for #5. Happy new year everyone!

  87. Carolyn Caddick

  92. Laura McGann
    7:44 am on January 5th, 2010

#4. After spending a week answering my 3 yr. olds questions on how Santa gets to everyone’s houses around the world in just one night (and how he will get down our chimney and into our house with the broken fire screen that Mom and Dad can’t figure out how to open)…. this one makes me laugh! And, as a Mgt Consultant, I always enjoy being the butt of a good joke! :-)
    I am a 2-1-1-1. Happy New Year!

  93. Pam McCallum
    8:27 am on January 5th, 2010

  95. Alicia Jackson

#3 because of its irony. The commercialization and bureaucratization of our approach to the holiday have caused us to lose our way.

I am not familiar with HBDI. I am a fairly linear thinker who is also overly sensitive to the approval of others. On the inventory during today’s presentation, I cam out on the Organizing part of the brain.

  100. Susan White
    4:23 pm on January 7th, 2010

#5 because it made me laugh! and it was cute, & that’s how my lap feels using the computer on my couch!

  101. Vicci Stevenson
    4:51 pm on January 7th, 2010

#4-I’ll be different. It just struck me funny because I hate to participate in games. I did love #5 too. I don’t know my profile number.

  102. Carol Ann
    5:49 pm on January 7th, 2010

#5 made me laugh out loud! It seems many employees in our company use their laptops during the holidays and PTO so they are less backlogged upon return. 198 left/98 right

  110. Bree
